A Black person is someone with African ancestors, right? As a Dominican, I have an array of things I can identify as. Black, Latina, Afro-Latina are usually the ones I go for. However, my family also has some connections to the indigenous Taínos and my maternal great grandfather is from Spain, which I have dark skin from my father's family. One of the things I love about my people is how far our culture and skin tones range yet we still manage to all be Dominican.
