The character is Yoruichi from Bleach. I don’t know the artist(s), but I used to like these fanarts. I looked at them again recently and realized how disturbingly whitewashed Yoruichi is in these pictures. I mean, I noticed when I first saw the fanarts that she was made MUCH paler than she really is, but I didn’t consciously think of it as whitewashing back then. I don’t know how my brain processed it…

The anime already whitewashes her, as you can see from comparing it to the manga cover. Sigh. Then there are fanarts that whitewash her anime skintone on top of that. And there’s some merchandise that whitewashes her anime skintone, like this DVD cover:

Yoruichi deserves waaaayyy more love than this.
