If we're sharing memories, I remember in school, I was 8 years old and around 24 out of the 30 people in our class were POC including me, we had to do self portraits and even though there were paint colours set out that matched every single one of us, everybody went straight to the palest peach and when the teacher was like "That's not really your skin colour" everyone was like "it's prettier/ I want it to be/ it should be". Smh when I look back at that.
