I'm currently designing characters for a project of mine and I realized that my protagonist has the lightest skin of all my characters- although I do not yet have an antagonist. (She's Japanese and the others are Pakistani, Black, Native American and Hispanic.) Is this something I need to fix and if so, how do you suggest I keep my comic from becoming another Last Airbender?
SoLDN: I don’t she the problem. The problem comes when the darker skin characters are made into stereotypes, not developed or are only the evil characters.
Your main character is still a POC even though she’s light. As long as you do your darker skin character justice, there isn’t a problem really
